On 28 May 2012, Eagle Rock Entertainment release the Live And Inspired album from Godsmack [Cat No. ADMCD550]. This is the first official Godsmack live CD and it includes a bonus 4 track EP of newly recorded cover versions. Live And Inspired features their classic hits Straight Outta Line, , , , I Stand Alone, and their legendary live drum battle Batalla De Los Tambores.

The live album was recorded at the Fox Theatre in Detroit, Michigan in 2007 and produced by Dave Fortman (Evanescence, Slipknot, Anthrax) and Sully Erna. It features hits and classic album tracks from all their albums released up to that point. Godsmack are hugely accomplished in the studio but also manage to bring an extra edge and energy to their live performances, which will make this a much sought after disc for their fanbase.

Mass Chaos Tour With Staind Kicks Off April 13, 2012

April 10, 2012 Multi-platinum, Grammy Award-nominated hard rock juggernaut GODSMACK will unleash its first-ever live album, Live & Inspired [Universal Republic Records], on May 15, 2012.

Live & Inspired features fierce and furious live renditions of numerous hits from the Massachusetts rockers' five studio albums. Their incendiary and infectious shows have become legendary in modern rock, and they continue to impress both critics and audiences alike every time they hit the stage. The group sounds unchained on rousing performances of "Awake", "Keep Away", "Straight Out of Line", "Whatever", "Voodoo", and "I Stand Alone."

This is the first time that's been captured on CD, and bonus tracks of covers that have "inspired" GODSMACK is also going to be included along with it. The four tracks are quite close to the band's collective heart. The band started ripping through local Massachusetts haunts with their renditions of some of these songs, and these recordings bring everything full circle.

About the collection, frontman Sully Erna reveals, "Live & Inspired is our way of saying 'Thank you' to all of our fans for believing in us throughout the years, and helping us to become a great live band! Along with this ass-whooping set live from Detroit Rock City, we've also included four cover songs of our favorite hits inthe past to show you that, we too, are simply just fans that appreciate nothing more than good old fashion ass-kicking rock 'n' roll! Enjoy!"

In addition, the quartet encouraged its legion of supporters to be a part of the release. The collection's packaging actually showcases a variety of fan photos. Fans may submit live snapshots of the group on stage, pictures of themselves rocking out at GODSMACK concerts, or photos of their tattoos of the group's iconic logo on the band's official Facebook. Now, the winning photos adorn the album's booklet and packaging.

The album will hit shelves and digital retailers while the band is in the midst of its Mass Chaos Tour with Staind and Halestorm. The jaunt commences on April 13 in Augusta, GA at the James Brown Arena, and it promises to be a brilliantly bruising night of hard rock. Godsmack's upcoming live album is due out this spring! It will include 13 of the bands favorite live songs that were recorded at their Detroit Rock City show last tour. The guys were recording a lot last tour but this is the show that stood out the most to the band & really kicked ass.

A lot of you have been inquiring about the Avalon Live DVD that was filmed at the Boston, MA show on Dec 16th 2011. We promised as soon as we got word we would let you all know. The below info was given to us as a update via the director Dan Catullo:

Via Dan Catullo (Director): "For anybody wondering- "Avalon Live" will be released as a box set this Spring (probably late April) and then in 3D and as a single disc (Blue Ray 2D and in 3D) in the Fall. The box set will have 3 DVD's (the show, the "Journey To Avalon" documentary and a behind the scenes doc), 2 CD's, a book, T-shirt, guitar pick, poster, incense, etc and a custom metal Sully Erna engraved metal box with a suede lining! Only 5,000 will be available!! Start spreading the word!!"

"Godsmack & Staind will co-headline the show. Halestorm will be the featured band and an opener will be added later.

Tickets will be $39.50 plus service charge. However, on Tuesday well be sending all Bombsquad members a password that will allow them to buy four tickets for $100 plus service charge (a savings of $14.50 per ticket). ONLY 250 OF THESE FOURPACKS WILL BE SOLD. This presale will be Thursday and going into Friday if necessary, then regular tickets will go on sale Saturday the 20th.

The show will be outdoors April 21st at the Lone Star Events Center. Doors are scheduled to open at 5:30 with the show going until about 11:30."

GODSMACK PUMPKIN CARVING CONTEST!

Let's get into the fall & Halloween spirit the right way! Calling all fans, we wanna see your best Godsmack related pumpkins designs.

The winner will receive a package of a few different merch items from past tours, as well as a killer photo print from ROCKMYWALLS.COM Photography! The rules are as followed:

1. Each fan gets ONE entry each. PLEASE DO NOT send in multiple pumpkin designs. If you happen to carve make more then one pumpkin, pick your best design to submit. People who send in more then one design will automatically be disqualified! You can however, if necessary, attach a couple pics of your ONE pumpkin design to your entry email. For Example: a front view and a side view of pumpkin, so we can see the full design. Just make sure it's only ONE pumpkin design only you are submitting.

2. There are NO AGE LIMITS for this contest! Everyone is welcome to participate, no matter how young or old.

3. GET CREATIVE! We have already seen the poplar GS sun logo done quite a few times, so why not change it up a bit?? Try carving one in dedication to your favorite Godsmack song! Just make sure it is somewhat obvious as to what song your pumpkin design is in reference too. We do not want the judges or fans to be completely stumped at your design & how it pertains to the band.

4. You MUST take a pic of yourself with your pumpkin design camera shy people need not apply! We want to see who is responsible for the pumpkin designs entries. We want to judge fairly & accordingly to all different age groups participating. We also want to make sure it is indeed YOUR design and not a picture you found off google!

5. All entries must be submitted by OCT 31ST at MIDNIGHT EST to godsmackinfo@yahoo.com ! After the contest submission date has passes we will then pic the BEST 5 pumpkin designs and will post them up on our FACEBOOK PAGE for all of YOU to take over on the judging. The pumpkin that receives the most "LIKES" within a week via the fans will be the winner!

The Godsmack concert scheduled for Wednesday September 7 at the Carlson Center in Fairbanks has been cancelled due to a scheduling conflict. The concert in Anchorage previously scheduled for September 6 at the SullivanArena has been rescheduled to September 7.

In February of 1995, after being behind the drums for more than 23 years, Sully Erna decided to start a new band. It was only a matter of time before he realized he needed to take charge and step out from behind the kit to front the band himself.

One year and a couple of member changes later Godsmack was born. Sully Erna, Robbie Merrill and Tony Rombola hit the studio and recorded their first CD titled All Wound Up. They did this over one weekend for a measly twenty six-hundred dollars.

Over the next two years, the band played throughout the Boston scene with drummer Joe Darco and began earning a strong reputation of being a great live band. The noise they were making in the New England area created a snowball effect like no other.

Godsmack began drawing in bigger and bigger audiences to their live shows. Their CD began circulating through the streets of Boston and eventually landed in the hands of a DJ for WAAF, a Boston radio station. WAAF put "Keep Away" into heavy rotation and it quickly soared to the #1 spot at the station. Newbury Comics, a New England record store chain, agreed to sell the CD on consignment and the grind continued.

Shortly after the success of "Keep Away" Godsmack went back into the studio and recorded a single titled "Whatever", which became the new local favorite on WAAF. It took off in the blink of an eye and the race was on.

As a result of the single doing so well, Godsmack's CD began selling hundreds of copies per week, and soon escalated to more than one thousand copies per week, becoming the second best selling CD in that chain of stores. Godsmack's live shows began selling out throughout New England, which in return created more requests for their music on the local radio stations and more CD sales. On and on it went until the summer of 1998 when Republic/Universal stepped up and signed the band to their label.

Joe Darco was soon replaced by Tommy Stewart, All Wound Up was re-mastered and the artwork was changed. The finished self-titled debut CD Godsmack hit the shelves six weeks later.

Godsmack hit the road on their first headlining tour, The Voodoo Tour. The bands strong live performances, coupled with high record sales and growing number of fans, landed them time slots on Ozzfest 1999 and 2000, a European tour with Black Sabbath and an appearance at Woodstock 1999.

In 2000, Godsmack released their second CD, Awake. This album's title track dominated rock radio and broke chart records throughout 2000 and 2001. The CD's instrumental track "Vampires" earned the band its first Grammy nomination.

Godsmack toured Awake selling out arenas and outdoor venues nationwide. They gave their fans their moneys worth with a gothic stage, video and pyro; lots of pyro!

In 2002, Sully was asked to A&R the soundtrack for the motion picture The Scorpion King, the third installment in the Mummy saga. The song Godsmack wrote and performed lived up to its title: "I Stand Alone" became the #1 single at Rock Radio and the most played Active Rock song in 2002 for 14 weeks straight.

After spending over four years on the road the band decided to take a break before heading back into the studio. It was during this break that Shannon Larkin, a friend of Sully's for 15 years, formerly of Wrathchild America, AMEN and Ugly Kid Joe, was asked to replace Tommy Stewart.

The new line up headed to Miami to write and record the bands third CD. Faceless was released in April of 2003 and became the #1 selling record in America of that week. Faceless also brought another tour that ran 23 months strong including two more Grammy nominations for "I Stand Alone" and an 11 month international arena tour with the kings of metal, Metallica!!

In March of 2004, Godsmack released their first acoustic EP, The Other Side which included new versions of previous hits like "Keep Away", "Re-Align" and a haunting new version of the Navy's recruit song, "Awake"!

This also spawned a side tour of its own. Godsmack filled in breaks from the big stage with Metallica with intimate storytelling acoustic shows giving their fans the explanation behind the title, The Other Side.

With rich velvet curtains, stone gargoyles and strings of Christmas lights illuminating theaters around the country, fans had a whole new experience of the true talents of this unique foursome. Stripped down to nothing, Godsmack continued to deliver one of the best acoustic performances of our time.

Godsmack ended 2004, and two CD cycles, with a nostalgic New Year's Eve performance at the Hard Rock Caf, in Orlando, Fl. During this amazing three hour performance, Godsmack rolled through just about every song in their catalog as well as a few well known cover songs.

The band released Godsmack IV on April 25, 2006 and their latest album, The Oracle, hit the streets on May 4, 2010.

"Although Massachusetts-based band Godsmack has sold upward of 7 million records in its career, the hard rock outfit is looking at its summer stint on the Mayhem Festival as a proving ground.

"For Godsmack, it's a chance for us to get up in front of a pretty different crowd than what we're used to. If you look at the bill -- Trivium, In Flames, Machine Head, Megadeth, Disturbed -- all of these bands are heavier than us. We're kind of the hard rock band on the tour. We definitely have the metal chug, chug aspect and all that," drummer Shannon Larkin said in a recent telephone interview."

We have added more tour dates to the schedule in September! Godsmack will be coming to Myrtle Beach, SC ~ Watertown, NY ~ Casper, WY ~ Fairbanks and Anchorage, AK for added U.S. dates. The guys are also coming back to Canada covering Dawson Creek, Edmonton and Regina! Check out the Tour Page for a full list of dates and ticket links.
