Arrival Time for General Admission.....

Sat, Feb 11, 2012 at 3:44 PM

What has everyone's experience been with general admission- standing room only shows? Of course we want to get as close as possible so..if the show starts at 6pm, what time would you head over?

If it's an all out General Admission at a club (like House of Blues) or smaller venue, I would be there as soon as the doors open. If it's a show where they are in a larger Arena type concert, the only way you can get extremely close to the stage is if you buy one of the VIP tix. If at the latter type of show, they have the floor sectioned off to where the VIP General admission ppl get real close, then a second area that has barricades for us other General admission folks :) Granted, you could still get somewhat close, but not as close to the stage as you would think.

I know the next time they come around and do shows like at House of Blues or Hardrock Live, I will make sure i have at least 4 other ppl that can handle being up front with me so I can have my young kids up at the front right on the rail ...that way, we have our little wall of protection, somewhat. But that will have to be determined at a later time

Good luck and either way, you will have a blast just to experience being on the floor during a GODSMACK concert! The energy is incredible

Hey, MM....nice to see you here! Are you going down to Ft Myers, or waiting for the next leg of the tour? I thought I'd do the FM show, but I think I'll hold out for Tampa or Orlando (or both!).

OK, answer to post...I usually get my spot on the rail (or as close as possible) at least an hour before. I prefer to be in front of Robbie, which is always the left side (our left) of the stage, so it's a little easier than shooting for dead center.

It's helpful to "make friends" with those already there; let them know you're cool, will be cool throughout the entire show and you'll be fine. I've seen too many douches do the "bulldog" stance on the rail and be complete dicks if you even want to hold the rail to steady yourself. But I've had more experiences with good peeps up there.

Go in with a good attitude, not intending to move anyone already there, but brace yourself for that asshat that thinks they're getting around you! Guys and gals...the drunk bitches can be worse than the 250+ linebacker-type guy!!

Hey Marley, Yeah me and both of my kids (10 yr old son and 6 yr old daughter) are goin to FM..It will be my daughters first GODSMACK concert and my son's 5th...I can't wait! Originally I was going to try and get the kids right on the rail but then I remembered that at larger venues, only the VIPs get right in front of the stage. So needless to say, I will have to wait until they play at Hardrock and then have about 3 or 4 of my friends to help me "Guard" my babies! We will see what happens :)
