VIP FEEDBACK

Sun, Apr 22, 2012 at 12:22 PM

Hey all I wanna hear everyone's VIP experience feedback (good or bad) and would appreciate if we can keep them all in this thread.

This way if I have to direct anyone at Ground ctrl to this thread it will be easy and organized into one thread instead of scattered.

Thank You!
Dom

I knew the VIP seating wasn't included, but that didn't make it suck any less to be sent to the back of the line, and make no mistake-- it was ground(ctrl) NOT the people in Belton that sent us back out.

Like I said before above, I didn't expect to be let in early or have any priority seating. I was *hoping* they would just let us stay together as a group and be let in first when the doors opened. To be sent back out for GA show where people line up hours early really blows and completely taints the VIP experience. It is certainly worth complaining about for $160.

I posted pics of the swag we got here and agree with James' comments about it. Good stuff.

Yeah, I have to agree, that's complete crap. Hopefully, as Web Mistress stated, the management, Ground(ctrl), or whoever, will link up with this thread and hopefully learn what works and what doesn't. After all, Ultimately they are who they are because of us. (by that I mean the people in charge) Hopefully on the next tour, or whatever, the VIP experience can be adjusted a little bit to properly reflect the meaning of VIP.

I've been waiting to see if a friend of mine would post about the concert May 4th @ the Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky....but seeing that she didn't, I wish to share what she was texting me before, during & of course...after the concert.

By all accounts...it was the best review I've read as of yet. The Meet & Greet was awesome - they took their time with the fans, chatting it up & signing just about anything the fans brought along...including Kim's Godsmack tatoo on her leg. All four of the guys signed it, then she had all 4 signatures inked in over them. She got the email notification 2 days prior to show, got the Gold VIP Swag just as she was escorted into arena....and when the greet was concluded, they all had the choice of leaving arena to drop stuff off in their vehicles, and then return inside.....or just simply stay put. She opted to drop loot off & then go back inside....to front row seats. As far as the concert was....well we all know that it kicked ass!!

Anyway....just thought I would share her experience with you all. Did I also mention that it was also her birthday too? Yup...sure was! Mind you, while I was getting "Blow-By-Blow" texts from her, I was working on rebuilding a rotted porch deck......and enjoyed hearing the excitement brought forth from her. Even saw some great pics that she picture messaged....

Our show will be in 5 days & counting (Mother's Day)...and I can only hope that we four will have the same experience that she and her daughter had last week......

    Peace.....
    C

I hope so! Last year at one of our M&Gs we were told-by the venue's head of security that it is up to the venue and some will not let people stay in there early. Doesnt matter if they are VIP or not. We were sent back outside but put in a different line from everyone else. We were all let in at the same time, and still got a good spot on the rail. Seats are not an option for me at a Smack show. Do you really want Sully yelling at you for sitting at his show? LOL There should be a choice when you buy the package. It does seem like ILAA packages always had early entry no matter what venue and I think that you could choose seats or floor. Not sure what the difference is with ground ctrl. I know people had issues with them too...

    Tue, May 15, 2012 at 10:06 AM

We travelled from New Jersey to Nashville for the show. This was my seventh Godsmack show and I would have to agree that it was the best. It was cool to see Robbie running on stage, he was really into the crowd. Sully asked the crowd if it was their first time seeing Godsmack and over half the floor raised their hands. The way the crowd was into it I am sure they will be going to the next show when Godsmack tours again. Godsmack rightfully closed the show as the headliner! We did the VIP and were disappointed with the seats. I had Row AA seat 1 and 2. Thinking I had the first VIP seats sold that I would have the closest seats. Not so, We had the furthest from the stage in our section. I have VIP for the Camden NJ show and it has GA tickets so hopefully we get priority entry so we are close to to rail. I had a friend bail on me for this show so I contacted Razor Wire to see if he could make it. Unfortunately he was unable to get the time off to go. Sorry he missed Nashville.

  6. Syracuse NY 5-15-12 VIP meet and greet...WTF HAPPENED YOU GUYS?!?!?!?!

    Tue, May 15, 2012 at 10:15 PM

I bought tickets to see this show the day pre-sales started. I decided to treat myself because I am a hard working single mom...and Godsmack is my favorite band. I was beyond thrilled with my purchase of VIP gold tickets. With the total cost being close to $400...I thought, well this is a once in a life time,so go for it. I spent the last few months telling all my friends how excited I was to meet the band that had gotten me through the last 10+ years of my life. So today I show up with a good friend SOOO excited to finally have my moment with Sully and the guys....just to be blown away by humiliation and and HUGE let down. I showed up at the time I was told to...just to be placed in a hallway , for what seemed like forever, and be told that I was only allowed to have one thing signed and that I was NOT ALLOWED to take pictures with my phone. That we were entitled to 1 photo .....which was taken by an employee ....and could be downloaded tomorrow on Godsmack.com. ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?????? So the guys come out and sit at a table with pens.:.waiting to sign our things. NO hey thanks for coming....no asking/answering questions or even the slightest conversation with anyone. Following our autographs we were told to go stand down yet another hallway to wait for our 1 photo with the band. As I approached the band for my photo...already feeling like a total ass...didn't Sully say to the girl.taking pictures that he loved the fact that we were flying through there....and "KEEP IT LIKE THIS THE REST OF THE TOUR". Again I say....ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?????!!!!!!! As if thing couldn't get ANY WORSE....our seats sucked ass.
Let me remind you members of Godsmack something.....THERE WOULD BE.NO GODSMACK IF IT WASN'T FOR LOYAL FANS SUCH AS MYSELF AND THE OTHER POOR PEOPLE THAT WERE SUBJECTED TO FEELING LIKE SHIT IN YOUR EXCELLENCIES PRESENCE.!!!!!! I personally am a single mom who busts my ass to raise my kids....pay the bills....and TRY to have a life. IF YOU THINK $400 IS EASY TO COME BY FOR ENTERTAINMENT YOU ARE SADLY MISTAKEN. You robbed me of my moment with a band I USED TO LOVE....my evening of fun ( which is hard to come by)....and my dignity (which I had when I first arrived) I know a tone of people and will be sharing this info with them.....AS OF TONIGHT I WILL BE RETHINKING MY STATUS AS A FAN OF GODSMACK. THANKS FOR A BIG BUNCH OF NOTHING!!!!!

I didn't have a problem with the meat and greet as my wife is the big fan I like the music but as you said well she ended up with 2 signed things but as far as the show went when godsmack came on the pep in sec 20 row b or d seats 13&14 as they were right in front of me and my wife as she just had foot surgery and can't stand on it without cruthes had to stand up and she couldn't take it anylonger they had no one standing up in front of them or could have switched seats with us so she could have been able to see but instead the wife got frustrated and asked me to leave nothing bad on godsmacks part but when I asked the worker if there was anything that could b done I got told no I even asked if there was seating for her or others with a handicap just to get told sorry and my god after stained getting her to the bathroom was a joke floors were wet and she almost fell more than once and people were just plane rude and almost ran her over so overall got to see 2 songs by godsmack and left because of the rude people especially the ones right in front of us so my overall bitch is just wth these people in front,of us weren't in there 20 had to be mid 30 to early 40s as we are also how rude can some people be she's not going to be on crutches for much longer but did learn just how rude people can be well we got to leave early instead of hanging out and waiting for the crowd left so only good thing I have to say about this show is thanks to all the rude, people thanks for ruining my wifes night was hopping to put a smile on her face not a frown

As for the picture taking again they don't allow people to take pics at most M&G no matter what band it is for. I have personally done them with other bands that use other VIP companies and its the same story. Those who have done this before are familiar with the rules, but other who are not I will explain. Because they are only allowed so much time per each M&G, a VIP host takes the pictures for you. This allows the M&G to run smoothly and keeps things fair for everyone. If people where allowed to use personal cameras there would be people asking for multiple photos with each of band members which ultimately would take time away from others and the M&G all together. This wouldn't be a such a issue if the guys had a unlimited time slot to do this, but because they don't they have to assure all VIP's get their one item signed and photos with the band in the given time slot allowed.

As for the disappointment in the location of your seats please leave the feedback in the thread I linked, it's very important that your feedback get's heard, but I need to keep it all within that thread so they don't have to dig through the message boards.

    Syracuse

the full experience through my eyes:

When we were escorted down to the basement, I was standing there, and all of a sudden you could hear a shower head turn on. Everyone near me was like 'wtf?'. Someone was taking a shower, right on the other side of the wall, and the wall wasn't even a wall. Kind of strange if you ask me. Young kids were there, and the unkown shower guy just didn't make it any better.
Also, the dude in the wheelchair (bad ass mofo) couldn't even GET to the basement to meet the band. Lets be real, do the m & g somewhere else besides a disgusting, formaldehyde-smelling basement. It could have been a security issue, as the wall was not all the way to the ceiling.

No problem at all with meet and greet.

After we got inside venue (after dropping stuff off at vehicle), I wanted a floor ticket. So I went to the box office to buy one. Sold out. So I asked dude man at the box office for his manager, and I found her. I showed her the price I paid for the ticket that comes with the VIP deal, and began explaning that I needed a floor ticket. She hooked me up and I got exactly what I wanted in the first place. Very stoked on that. But to beg someone for something I think I should have gotten in the first place is beyond me. (Pretty sure VIP silver got floor, VIP gold got section 20 something, row HORRIBLE) Maybe you should switch that around. Or maybe gold should have an option. Not sure how that would work, though.

I thought it was an excellent time. I'll tell you why I like to spend a lot of money on experiences like these. You meet your favorite band (if your buying it just to meet the band, I would re-think about your purchase.) but most importantly you get souvineers and goodies and meet new people that you will have with you for years and years and years to come.

    I think that covers it.

Not only that, but if your snapping away pictures left and right, you'll be in the way of everybody else trying to make it run quickly. Or just because you have a camera, you'll instantly feel like you should just stand there and take pictures and feel like it's alright to do. Trust me, I've done it before. Your at a concert meet and greet, not an in-store apperance meet and greet. I think having the host do it is beyond perfect.

I agree that VIP tix should have the choice of seating (with choice of seats) and/or floor tickets. I had floor tix this time around, but had to sit in the seats b/c I injured my knee and there was no I could have stood the whole time. Everybody has different circumstances/needs.

As far as our experience @ Binghamton show, there's really nothing to report, except......A GREAT EXPERIENCE FOR ALL FOUR OF US...other than Gregg messing up his foot 2 days before & having to use crutches. The M & G went real well, pictures came out great - posted before we could even get home...! All four bands were rocking, the crowd wasn't bad either. We had choice of floor or seats, whichever we preferred. We chose seats next to the stage & off to the left, so Gimpy didn't have to stand over 4 hours - totally our choice.
Seems that when Gregg & I were on phone when Gold VIP was about to hit presale, we chose the better venue. Seeing a lot of negative review on bothhere and FB in regard to Syracuse's show, although a lot seems to do with the venue. I have however, heard from several friends that Sully wasn't too polite, seemed outta sorts, etc. Shit happens.....

One other quick thing, and it was our venue's call....they even opened a second floor patio that 2 security peeps kept an eye on, so those who had a need to smoke....could. yeah...Yeah, I know....I shouldn't snoke, but certain worse things will get the better of me one day, and not schmokes...Lol.

I have to agree! $400 is a lot to me, I feel that putting us in a narrow downstairs hot hallway is crap. We paid the price for a meet and greet, when in stead we were stuck in this hallway until you got to the point where they sign, then you could see them for a matter of 6 seconds. Then to be shoved down another hallway again where you cant see them. I can't believe that the size of the Oncenter that there isn't a room they could have done this in???? Then when it came time for the picture they snapped it so quick you couldn't even prepare yourself. I mean she could have said ready or something. I was pretty much walking to my spot and click, move on! So we stood there for about 2 seconds. So for $400 we got to have them in our sights for a total of 6 seconds. As far as the seats go, I was okay with them but I thought the crowd was lame!! Who sits when Godsmack is on the stage, I mean really? I will say Tony was nice enough to extend his hand and say hello, how are you. But definetly a disappointment as we were rushed through everything. As far as the comment they are limited for time, we were told to be there at 3:45 they don't go on stage until 10:00ish, I think within the 6 hours they could have spent a bit more time with the fans willing to pay hard earned money that we really don't have just for a chance....very frustrating. $400 dollars is nothing to them but to the fans that is ALOT of money

We went to a M&G at the OnCenter back in 2006. It was in a banquet room with an open bar so they definitely have the facilities available. On that night, we were able to talk to the guys briefly, get a picture in groups and move on but we were able to stay in the room until they left. Second row seats. Overall, a very good experience. The next time we went to a M&G was at the Landmark Theatre a year later. It was still pretty cool. Great seats again. Sully decided to skip it though but Robbie, Tony & Shannon were very cool !! I hope they mean what they say about their fans and are not getting out of touch !!!

Melinda - The crowd was SO lame, that when I tried to get bodies moving, like 20 people around me pointed me out to security and they threw me out of the venue during Whatever. Was I trying to intentionally hurt people? NO. Was I out of control? NO. Was I doing exactly what I was instructed to do by Sully? YES.

I guess I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time when trying to open it up a little bit.. The entire set was AMAZING, and maybe that's why the crowd just stood there. I've never been kicked out of a show before, so that was new to me.

If your reading this, and you pointed me out to security, F you.

    VIP in Nashville. Excellent!
Coolest guys ever. I know some folks were disappointed a little at how impersonal it was for them. Sorry, get over it. It was worth every dime to me. Got my shirt and my lithograph signed by all the band. Shook hands with Tony, (That's what I came for anyway!!!) Tony Rombola is in my top 5 coolest guys alive list. Remember if you feel rushed around a bit folks, these 4 guys see hundreds of thousands of lunatics just like us, day in, day out. I forgive them if they seem a little numb to it, which they didn't! Robbie was all smiles, very polite to my wife. Shannon was rockin his Zombie Tshirt, so was I. Coolest guys on the planet.
