Hey all I wanna hear everyone's VIP experience feedback (good or bad) and would appreciate if we can keep them all in this thread.

This way if I have to direct anyone at Ground ctrl to this thread it will be easy and organized into one thread instead of scattered.

Thank You!

Melinda - The crowd was SO lame, that when I tried to get bodies moving, like 20 people around me pointed me out to security and they threw me out of the venue during Whatever. Was I trying to intentionally hurt people? NO. Was I out of control? NO. Was I doing exactly what I was instructed to do by Sully? YES.

I guess I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time when trying to open it up a little bit.. The entire set was AMAZING, and maybe that's why the crowd just stood there. I've never been kicked out of a show before, so that was new to me.

If your reading this, and you pointed me out to security, F you.

I have been to many Godsmack concerts and I couldn't believe how lame the crowd was! It sucks you get thrown out for actually rocking out at this concert. People that are just sitting should be the ones kicked out...just

    VIP in Nashville. Excellent!
Coolest guys ever. I know some folks were disappointed a little at how impersonal it was for them. Sorry, get over it. It was worth every dime to me. Got my shirt and my lithograph signed by all the band. Shook hands with Tony, (That's what I came for anyway!!!) Tony Rombola is in my top 5 coolest guys alive list. Remember if you feel rushed around a bit folks, these 4 guys see hundreds of thousands of lunatics just like us, day in, day out. I forgive them if they seem a little numb to it, which they didn't! Robbie was all smiles, very polite to my wife. Shannon was rockin his Zombie Tshirt, so was I. Coolest guys on the planet.

As far as the comment they are limited for time, we were told to be there at 3:45 they don't go on stage until 10:00ish, I think within the 6 hours they could have spent a bit more time with the fans willing to pay hard earned money that we really don't have just for a chance....very frustrating. $400 dollars is nothing to them but to the fans that is ALOT of money

Yes that may be true, but there is plenty going on behind the scenes people don't see. These guys have press and meetings schedules during the day before they go out and perform. Every day these guys are given a schedule of where they have to be and when and every day it varies. They are not just sitting around day to day doing nothing.. they are actually pretty busy the days of shows. Everything is on a time schedule... from when they wake up to when they have bus call and have to leave to be slept to the next city.

I totally understand they are not just sitting around and there is a lot of other things going on. By no means did I want it to sound that way. My point was for the 50 VIP people there that paid a total of $8500.00 + to see them, they should have a better place than a hallway that we only get to see them for 10 seconds. Which was not a slam towards the band, im sure the venue was the issue. These guys are amazing and put on an amazing show, I guess we just want more time with them for VIP for the price we pay.

Feed back for Bangor VIP. VIP rep was out at about 4:30. that was 15 minutes a head of schedule. She handed out the swag and check everyones in. Swag wasn't as nice as in the past. This was my 5th VIP. The poster was pretty nice but a little light on the swag compaired to the past. She explained how the meet and great would work. We would file through and get an item signed then file through a second time for a photo.
I asked how we would be let into the show. I thought the 4:45 meet and great time would be an issue with getting in early as that is the time the Waterfront starts letting people in. She said we would be let in through the venues VIP entrance before everyone else.

We went back and filed through the first time then again for a photo. Compaired ti the other 4 I have done, this was the most no personal, disconected meet and great. They didn't take time to talk to anyone like in the past. It was all just and assembly line. I know they are busy and don't have a lot of time but this was crazy. It was the lasgest crowd I have ever seen at a Maine meet and greet. Maybe limit the number of VIP's to a smaller number. Last time I did the meet and great in Bangot there was only 6 of us. It was great. they stayed and talked with us and the VIP rep gave us each a drum head and had them all sign it for us when they came out. We had drink and snacks unlike this time. Robbie even came back and hung out with us for a half hour before we were let in.
Once we were done with the photo we run out of the area. When we got out to the VIP gate they were already letting people in. We went through and had to wait to be let into the concert area. It was GA with no seating. There was about 500 people in front of us. So when we got it we were about 20 or so back from the stage. I though we would be let in first and be up front. The show was great. I had to work my was to the front. The crwod was crazy. Great show though and a lot of fun.

To sum it up. I think I Love All Access did a better job with the VIP packages. I don't think I will do another with this company running them. A few minor tweeks could make it better.

Just be aware if you do this.. it's not guaranteed, if you do see them, you will get a pic or something signed. Sometimes they need to skip out right away and get directly on the bus. Just don't want anyone getting there hopes up expecting something if it doesn't happen. I rather people know that going in, then a chance of them being bummed out if it doesn't happen. Other times you may get one or two of the guys that come over and not the whole band. Chances if anyone does it will be Shannon and or Robbie for the most part. Sully is always with security being escorted out and Tony is on that bus right after the show is over.

I'd like to say I'm very disappointed in the VIP experience, and we've seen godsmack 4 times before this so needless to say were fans.. my husband and I traveled 3 hours for the estero concert in florida.. were about an hour north of Tampa and we had a great time except for the VIP.. which we paid a nice chuck of money for.. we got to meet them for literally like 22 seconds.. we were hurried out.. and didn't even get any picture with seems everyone else had a photo opportunity.. don't get me wrong i loved getting the autographs.. but for $160 a piece for tickets you'd think we'd be allowed to have our picture taken with them.. not going to make the mistake of buying VIP tickets again.

I’m really glad I saw the posting about the photos link on the band’s fb page. This led me to this forum discussing VIP experiences. I had a couple of issues with my VIP experience. First of all, and I suppose this is the most important, THE WHOLE CONCERT WAS AMAZING!!!! Easily the best rock show I’ve ever seen. Godsmack and StainD are two of my favorite bands. These tickets and the VIP package were a birthday present to myself. While the concert was incredible, the VIP was certainly less than so. I purchased the Gold package for the sole reason of getting to meet the band. I arrived at the venue 30 minutes before the appointed time and waited where I was instructed to. At the right time, a lady came from within the building and said she was there to hand out the VIP materials. You had to show her ID and your ticket. After handing out everyone’s items we were told two specifics of the M & G. There were to be NO PICTURES and you could only have ONE thing that the band would sign. I was not too surprised by this as other meet and greets I had attended had similar rules. But this is all that we were told. As we were brought inside I was chatting with other members of the group and was sorely disappointed to learn that not everyone there had purchased the Gold package. There were people who had purchased Silver packages as well. Several of the people actually showed me receipts and their ticket that said so. According to the MassChaos website, the Godsmack website and Ticketmaster, only the Gold package came with a meet and greet. It seemed HIGHLY unfair that people who paid considerably less were afforded the same opportunity. Good for them that they got to meet the band for less, but very irritating to those of us that paid more for that specific detail. Once we got to the table, we were herded right thru. It was hello, sign, next. I would say that my actual face time with the band was less than 30 seconds. Then we were pointed out a side door to wait back outside where we started for the remaining 2 hours before doors opened to the venue. I understand that the band itself doesn’t control the VIP experience. I also understand that they have many commitments on the day of the show. But the whole process seemed much less controlled than I expected. Anyone could get in, some people who only purchased one ticket got more than one of the VIP items and beyond the no pictures and one signed item, we were not given any other information. Go this way, stand here, out this door. If more attention had been paid to those who actually paid for the M& G, then the short time the band had for it could’ve been spent with those people. Not just hurry to get all 50 or 60 through.

The other distressful thing didn’t come up until tonight. When I saw the fb posting about VIP photos, I was somewhat confused because it said that they were VIP photos from the MassChaos tour meet and greets. During my VIP, I was under the impression that photos weren’t allowed. So I followed the link and realized that these were indeed photos from the M & G’s. My concert date was April 15 in Estero, FL. The earliest date on the link was Apr 17. I was very upset to learn that the fans in FL that paid an equal amount as fans in other cities weren’t afforded the same chance for pictures with the band. Even if was like other posters on this thread have said and it was a walk up, take a pic and go, that would’ve been acceptable. Just to have that souvenir of you with your favorite band would’ve been worth it. From what I could see in the photos, everyone had the same exact items the fans in Estero received. I was originally scheduled to be in Nashville the day of that show and looked into buying tickets and another VIP because I like Godsmack so much. The items listed were the exact same as what I had purchased for the Estero show. There was no mention of a picture. My work plans changed and I ended up not being there. So that makes it even more upsetting that hard earned money I paid didn’t seem to get me what it got others. Why weren’t VIP photos taken at the Estero show meet and greet?? Several of us were talking after we met the guys and we were all wondering, “Is that it?” There was a guy who had tour credentials walking around outside and one of us asked him if that was all for the VIP packages. The items and a quick autograph. We wanted to make sure we didn’t miss anything. He replied that was it. I was very disconcerted to see that photos were taken on subsequent tour dates with people who apparently paid the same price I did and got a much better experience.

For future tours, I would make sure that it is stated very clearly what will and will not be part of the VIP packages. It should be the same for all cities. Then that needs to be enforced. No matter who is in charge of it.

I attended the Bossier City, LA concert. I bought the Gold VIP pass because the Silver package did not include the meet & greet. That is the way it was advertised. Yet why is it that Silver package ticket holders got to attended the meet & greet and have their photo taken? I love Godsmack's music. It was always my dream to see them in concert. I finally got my dream just to be disappointed with the meet & greet. There wasn't any meet & greet... just rush rush and hurry the hell up. Stand in this line, stand in that line. Get your stuff, have one thing signed, get back in line. The lady taking the photos was extremely rude. Majority of us standing in line were laughing and cutting up and talking amongst each other. I bought 2 VIP Gold packages at $180 a piece. I really felt it wasn't worth the price.

On an ending note, I will say that Godsmack's stage performance is out of this world for a concert! They do put on an awesome show! But, sadly, I will not be buying a VIP package again. I'm hoping to catch a show on Sully's Avalon tour...... but no VIP package for me.

and just to make a point elly. i would of done the vip but a friend brought my ticket for me and i did not think it was right to ask her to pay 100 dollars more.

I was very happy with the experience overall. My only request would be to email the details for when and where to meet at least a week in advance so people can plan. I was leaving from work and needed to let them know what time, but I didn't get the information until the night before the show.
It turns to silence, a silence sometimes I can hear
Internal violence, a struggle deep within
    What if
What if I leave could I still breathe
What if I breathe could I still be
And if I leave would I be me
    What if, what if

I strongly agree. Although I ended up missing a recent VIP, I still received the email notification (less than the promised 48 hours prior I might add).

Reading the reviews here it seems like the meet time is normally at roughly 4:15 or so. Why not tell people that one week (or more) before with a caveat that the time may shift slightly and will be 100% confirmed 48 hours prior?

For $160 we would be paying for them to send two emails rather than one. Seems reasonable to me.

I bought VIP for Halestorm in July and have already received more emails and information from Artist Arena than I ever did from ground(ctrl). They've already sent me an email with a rough idea of when and where I should be... and the show is still 2 months away!

    Wed, May 23, 2012 at 7:58 AM

where does one find the VIP for Halestorm? I can see tons of tour dates, but no info about that.

    Wed, May 23, 2012 at 8:33 AM

^ The Halestorm website in general (and Board and Event areas specifically) has to be one of the most confusing and cumbersome series of band pages ever. It's all there, it's just next to impossible to find anything and when you do the pages take too long to load. Their old site was simple, this new one is horrible.

You have to register with Artist Arena HERE

Once that's done, the VIP purchase is fairly simple (and incredibly inexpensive).
