Metallica Cover Songs

Fri, Jul 13, 2012 at 2:14 PM

Over the years, many bands have covered songs by Metallica.

To name a few…..

Godsmack – “Nothing Else Matters”
Limp Bizkit – “Welcome Home (Sanitarium)”
Korn – “One”
Primus – “The Thing That Should Not Be”
Apocalyptica – “Wherever I May Roam”

The best one is Godsmack rendition of “Nothing Else Matters

I have to say, the version of NEM on Live & Inspired doesn't do much for me. I am very partial to the song...it's "our" song, me and The Todd...we used the "elevator" verison as our first dance as wife and husband (insert "awwwwwww" here).
When I heard it was on L&I, I was very excited, but then a bit let down.

As for songs Metallica has covered, I love "Whiskey in the Jar", one of my favorite Metallica songs! And "Turn the Page"...great original by Bob Seger, but they really made it their own.
