VIP FEEDBACK

Sun, Apr 22, 2012 at 12:22 PM

Hey all I wanna hear everyone's VIP experience feedback (good or bad) and would appreciate if we can keep them all in this thread.

This way if I have to direct anyone at Ground ctrl to this thread it will be easy and organized into one thread instead of scattered.

Thank You!

    Syracuse

the full experience through my eyes:

When we were escorted down to the basement, I was standing there, and all of a sudden you could hear a shower head turn on. Everyone near me was like 'wtf?'. Someone was taking a shower, right on the other side of the wall, and the wall wasn't even a wall. Kind of strange if you ask me. Young kids were there, and the unkown shower guy just didn't make it any better.
Also, the dude in the wheelchair (bad ass mofo) couldn't even GET to the basement to meet the band. Lets be real, do the m & g somewhere else besides a disgusting, formaldehyde-smelling basement. It could have been a security issue, as the wall was not all the way to the ceiling.

No problem at all with meet and greet.

After we got inside venue (after dropping stuff off at vehicle), I wanted a floor ticket. So I went to the box office to buy one. Sold out. So I asked dude man at the box office for his manager, and I found her. I showed her the price I paid for the ticket that comes with the VIP deal, and began explaning that I needed a floor ticket. She hooked me up and I got exactly what I wanted in the first place. Very stoked on that. But to beg someone for something I think I should have gotten in the first place is beyond me. (Pretty sure VIP silver got floor, VIP gold got section 20 something, row HORRIBLE) Maybe you should switch that around. Or maybe gold should have an option. Not sure how that would work, though.

I thought it was an excellent time. I'll tell you why I like to spend a lot of money on experiences like these. You meet your favorite band (if your buying it just to meet the band, I would re-think about your purchase.) but most importantly you get souvineers and goodies and meet new people that you will have with you for years and years and years to come.

    I think that covers it.

Not only that, but if your snapping away pictures left and right, you'll be in the way of everybody else trying to make it run quickly. Or just because you have a camera, you'll instantly feel like you should just stand there and take pictures and feel like it's alright to do. Trust me, I've done it before. Your at a concert meet and greet, not an in-store apperance meet and greet. I think having the host do it is beyond perfect.

I agree that VIP tix should have the choice of seating (with choice of seats) and/or floor tickets. I had floor tix this time around, but had to sit in the seats b/c I injured my knee and there was no I could have stood the whole time. Everybody has different circumstances/needs.

As far as our experience @ Binghamton show, there's really nothing to report, except......A GREAT EXPERIENCE FOR ALL FOUR OF US...other than Gregg messing up his foot 2 days before & having to use crutches. The M & G went real well, pictures came out great - posted before we could even get home...! All four bands were rocking, the crowd wasn't bad either. We had choice of floor or seats, whichever we preferred. We chose seats next to the stage & off to the left, so Gimpy didn't have to stand over 4 hours - totally our choice.
Seems that when Gregg & I were on phone when Gold VIP was about to hit presale, we chose the better venue. Seeing a lot of negative review on bothhere and FB in regard to Syracuse's show, although a lot seems to do with the venue. I have however, heard from several friends that Sully wasn't too polite, seemed outta sorts, etc. Shit happens.....

One other quick thing, and it was our venue's call....they even opened a second floor patio that 2 security peeps kept an eye on, so those who had a need to smoke....could. yeah...Yeah, I know....I shouldn't snoke, but certain worse things will get the better of me one day, and not schmokes...Lol.

I have to agree! $400 is a lot to me, I feel that putting us in a narrow downstairs hot hallway is crap. We paid the price for a meet and greet, when in stead we were stuck in this hallway until you got to the point where they sign, then you could see them for a matter of 6 seconds. Then to be shoved down another hallway again where you cant see them. I can't believe that the size of the Oncenter that there isn't a room they could have done this in???? Then when it came time for the picture they snapped it so quick you couldn't even prepare yourself. I mean she could have said ready or something. I was pretty much walking to my spot and click, move on! So we stood there for about 2 seconds. So for $400 we got to have them in our sights for a total of 6 seconds. As far as the seats go, I was okay with them but I thought the crowd was lame!! Who sits when Godsmack is on the stage, I mean really? I will say Tony was nice enough to extend his hand and say hello, how are you. But definetly a disappointment as we were rushed through everything. As far as the comment they are limited for time, we were told to be there at 3:45 they don't go on stage until 10:00ish, I think within the 6 hours they could have spent a bit more time with the fans willing to pay hard earned money that we really don't have just for a chance....very frustrating. $400 dollars is nothing to them but to the fans that is ALOT of money

We went to a M&G at the OnCenter back in 2006. It was in a banquet room with an open bar so they definitely have the facilities available. On that night, we were able to talk to the guys briefly, get a picture in groups and move on but we were able to stay in the room until they left. Second row seats. Overall, a very good experience. The next time we went to a M&G was at the Landmark Theatre a year later. It was still pretty cool. Great seats again. Sully decided to skip it though but Robbie, Tony & Shannon were very cool !! I hope they mean what they say about their fans and are not getting out of touch !!!

Melinda - The crowd was SO lame, that when I tried to get bodies moving, like 20 people around me pointed me out to security and they threw me out of the venue during Whatever. Was I trying to intentionally hurt people? NO. Was I out of control? NO. Was I doing exactly what I was instructed to do by Sully? YES.

I guess I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time when trying to open it up a little bit.. The entire set was AMAZING, and maybe that's why the crowd just stood there. I've never been kicked out of a show before, so that was new to me.

If your reading this, and you pointed me out to security, F you.

I have been to many Godsmack concerts and I couldn't believe how lame the crowd was! It sucks you get thrown out for actually rocking out at this concert. People that are just sitting should be the ones kicked out...just saying....lol

    VIP in Nashville. Excellent!
Coolest guys ever. I know some folks were disappointed a little at how impersonal it was for them. Sorry, get over it. It was worth every dime to me. Got my shirt and my lithograph signed by all the band. Shook hands with Tony, (That's what I came for anyway!!!) Tony Rombola is in my top 5 coolest guys alive list. Remember if you feel rushed around a bit folks, these 4 guys see hundreds of thousands of lunatics just like us, day in, day out. I forgive them if they seem a little numb to it, which they didn't! Robbie was all smiles, very polite to my wife. Shannon was rockin his Zombie Tshirt, so was I. Coolest guys on the planet.

Yes that may be true, but there is plenty going on behind the scenes people don't see. These guys have press and meetings schedules during the day before they go out and perform. Every day these guys are given a schedule of where they have to be and when and every day it varies. They are not just sitting around day to day doing nothing.. they are actually pretty busy the days of shows. Everything is on a time schedule... from when they wake up to when they have bus call and have to leave to be slept to the next city.

I totally understand they are not just sitting around and there is a lot of other things going on. By no means did I want it to sound that way. My point was for the 50 VIP people there that paid a total of $8500.00 + to see them, they should have a better place than a hallway that we only get to see them for 10 seconds. Which was not a slam towards the band, im sure the venue was the issue. These guys are amazing and put on an amazing show, I guess we just want more time with them for VIP for the price we pay.

Feed back for Bangor VIP. VIP rep was out at about 4:30. that was 15 minutes a head of schedule. She handed out the swag and check everyones in. Swag wasn't as nice as in the past. This was my 5th VIP. The poster was pretty nice but a little light on the swag compaired to the past. She explained how the meet and great would work. We would file through and get an item signed then file through a second time for a photo.
I asked how we would be let into the show. I thought the 4:45 meet and great time would be an issue with getting in early as that is the time the Waterfront starts letting people in. She said we would be let in through the venues VIP entrance before everyone else.

We went back and filed through the first time then again for a photo. Compaired ti the other 4 I have done, this was the most no personal, disconected meet and great. They didn't take time to talk to anyone like in the past. It was all just and assembly line. I know they are busy and don't have a lot of time but this was crazy. It was the lasgest crowd I have ever seen at a Maine meet and greet. Maybe limit the number of VIP's to a smaller number. Last time I did the meet and great in Bangot there was only 6 of us. It was great. they stayed and talked with us and the VIP rep gave us each a drum head and had them all sign it for us when they came out. We had drink and snacks unlike this time. Robbie even came back and hung out with us for a half hour before we were let in.
Once we were done with the photo we run out of the area. When we got out to the VIP gate they were already letting people in. We went through and had to wait to be let into the concert area. It was GA with no seating. There was about 500 people in front of us. So when we got it we were about 20 or so back from the stage. I though we would be let in first and be up front. The show was great. I had to work my was to the front. The crwod was crazy. Great show though and a lot of fun.

To sum it up. I think I Love All Access did a better job with the VIP packages. I don't think I will do another with this company running them. A few minor tweeks could make it better.

Just be aware if you do this.. it's not guaranteed, if you do see them, you will get a pic or something signed. Sometimes they need to skip out right away and get directly on the bus. Just don't want anyone getting there hopes up expecting something if it doesn't happen. I rather people know that going in, then a chance of them being bummed out if it doesn't happen. Other times you may get one or two of the guys that come over and not the whole band. Chances if anyone does it will be Shannon and or Robbie for the most part. Sully is always with security being escorted out and Tony is on that bus right after the show is over.
