With every album The guys have released they have gotten better and better. This album was more straight ahead Hard Rock and Heavy Metal. It went to a stronger place than Godsmack did. It set the stage for Faceless. The best track on the album by far is and always will be Awake. Also i really like Vampires even though it didnt get any air play.

Awake

The reason I like the Awake album is because of the 'dark grunge' that it has throughout the album. But before I go any further, I love all of the Godsmack records, especially since Shannon Larkin joined the band during the Faceless album, Great Work Shannon!! Shannon, I think makes the music better for Sully, Robbie, and my man Tony Rombola. Tony Rombola's leads in Awake are crushing. Listen to the track 'Trippin' and you will realize what I am talking about. A crushing 'dark grunge' rythme and great lead playing is the way to go in Hard Rock music. Sully's lyrics fit right into a 'dark grunge' attitude. His lyrics are original and smacks you right in the face. You can tell Sully wants you to hear him out and understand what is going on. You can also tell he means exactly what he sings. Godsmack will always be my favorite band because they come up with the greatest music. Godsmack, to me is Hard Rock but almost doesn't have a genre or even belong in one due to the fact that they leak into every category that has to do with Rock; Hard Rock; Grung; Metal; Nu-Metal, etc. Godsmack has also achieved a great accomplishment of having their own sound. It could be an old song or a new song, you know it's Godsmack. It's not the same lyrics or the same riff or anything like that, it's just that Godsmack attitude you get when you hear the music. Godsmack has all the tools to be one of the greatest bands ever!!

Awake

This is the best album by far. There's a lot of bass and tribal beat. This album kicks ass, and at the same time it's soothing to your soul. One of my favorite songs is trippin. When you guys play it acoustic it is definitely the best jam ever.
