Gemini Syndrome and other such stuff

Sun, Aug 14, 2011 at 1:33 AM By: Cagekun

I just got home from watching Gemini Syndrome... they were a bunch of really cool cats and put on an amazing show. I just wish that they had had a better turn out for the show. Last night I went and saw My Darkest Day and Three Days Grace (4 hour drive to get there) . That show was better than I had even expected it to be and I had had high hopes to begin with. Three Days Grace sang all of their biggest hits and then some including a cover of Eminem's "Lose Yourself", Limp Bizkit's "Break Stuff" and Tom Petty's "Free Fallin'" My Darkest Day put on a hell of a show and I have a whole new respect now for both bands... even if the guitar/singer with the mohawk had on pink and purple tie-dye skinny pants. They covered Kanye West's "Heartless". My favorite cover version of that song to date... granted I hate the original.
On another somewhat related note... on the drive home we almost hit a guy that was walking down the middle of the road in the middle of the night in the middle of bum fuck nowhere... Matt (the driver) barely saw him in time and had to swerve to avoid him. I guess it's not a road trip if nothing eventful happens. The last major road trip I took before that was to Missoula, MT (3 hours away) with my mom. The ride up was alright. I had gone there to see Henry Rollins do his spoken word show for the 3rd time. I talked to him after the show and the last thing he said to me was, "Get home safe." Yeah, that was good advice... about half way home an elk jumped in front of us. It hit the car so hard that head was decapitated by the windshield and landed inside on my side of the dash board. Nice... huh! My mom was able to drive the car home (it took us an extra 4 hours).
I realize that I'm kind of rambling but I'm trying to work off the adrenaline from the concert and I'm loopy. I really hope Gemini Syndrome stay together... it was nice to see Juzwick again and this band of his is really amazing. If you like Mudvayne/ Tool type stuff check them out... fuck even if you don't like Mudvayne or Tool check them out anyways. I usually wouldn't push very hard, but I really believe in them.

12 DAYS TO GODSMACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. I just love how when I'm typing tihs Godsmack comes up as a misspelled word.

Yeah, it was an elk... a doe elk but it was an elk. It was at about 0200 in the morning and it just jumped right out in front of us. That isn't even the worst accident I've been in.

An Elk??? Where I live in Iowa there are a lot of trophy bucks. One was running along side the car one morning, it was pretty cool. Unfortunately I've hit a few deer also, which sucks. I had one smash the windshield, but the head didn't come off!!!
I'm waiting for next Tuesday for Godsmack to come to Dubuque, which is less than an hour away. Hope I don't run in to any critters on the way there or home!
