Godsmack

As a fan of Hard Rock and Heavy Metal, I consider Godsmack to be one of the best bands of recent memory. I don't pay any attention to anybody who says that they suck or they're an "Alice In Chains clone". I like AIC as well as Godsmack and I don't hear any similarities between the two of them. To me, they are two different bands.

Anyway, my name is Jason. But you can call me godsmackjunkie89.

I've loved Rock music since I was probably 3 or 4 years old. And I've loved Metal since I was about 12 or 13.

I first heard Godsmack when I was 15 years old, there was a commercial for the movie Alone In The Dark, and the song playing in that commercial was I Stand Alone. I asked my sister, "That was a really kick ass song! Who sings that?", then she said. "Some terrible band called Godsmack." I didn't know about this until like two years later but before she started listening to J-Rock (short for Japenese), she had the album Faceless. I played the CD on my computer and of course there were scratches on it, so I ended up buying the album off iTunes, along with the self titled album and Awake. From that point on, Godsmack became one of my favorite bands.

I'm 23 years old now, and right now I am listening to Get Up Get Out from the first album.

In my opinion, Godsmack are the definitive Alternative Metal band. If you choose to place them in another genre, fine but to me they are Alt-Metal.

I am on here not only because I love Godsmack, but I also wanna connect with other Godsmack fans.
